2067

2067 is a time travel sci-fi mystery-thriller set in the year 2067, when Earth has been ravaged by climate change and humanity is forced to live on artificial oxygen, which is killing the world's population.

Directed by VFX maestro, Seth Larney, the visuals are compelling and a key plot device is the holographic messages recorded by protagonists that drive the action forward.

In late 2018 Mod director, Michela Ledwidge was approached to work in pre-production with the film's On-Set VFX Supervisor, Mark van den Bergen to develop on-set Virtual Production options. Two options - in-camera VFX and real-time point-cloud "hologram" capture were tested. Michela then joined the production on-set at Adelaide Film Studios to capture holograms for key dramatic shots.

Starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ryan Kwanten, Deborah Mailman, Aaron Glenane and Sana'a Shaik, the producing team was led by Arcadia’s Lisa Shaunessy, Futurism Studios’ Jason Taylor and Kate Croser for Kojo Entertainment.

Incidentally, the Mod team had individually contributed in 2014 to the crowdfunding campaign for this Aussie sci-fi when the project's working title was SUBJECT 14, so it was great to see the project realised after much hard work by the team driving this indie project forward.

2067 had its US release on 2 October 2020 on VOD, Digital HD and in selected theatres, reaching fourth spot on the US iTunes digital chart in the first week. Its Australia/New Zealand release led on from its Adelaide Film Festival premier, followed by widespread release in China.
