ZED RUN

Mod supplied live-action virtual production services to Spectre Studios for a 2021 Lexus Melbourne Cup broadcast, with Mod principal, Michela Ledwidge serving as Technical Director.

Live presenters were filmed on an LED volume for video on demand and for live broadcast segments streaming from TDC’s Sydney studio into ZED HQ within Decentraland, a 3D virtual world on the Etherium blockchain. Audiences accessed both traditional race day video content and interactive entertainment including race-themed games and auctions for NFT thoroughbreds.

The production was the result of a partnership between Virtually Human Studio, developer of digital horse racing game, ZED RUN and the Victoria Racing Club, host of the Melbourne Cup, one of Australia's largest annual events.
