WANTED: Software Engineer - Web Development (Django, React)

Mod is looking for a Software Engineer focussed on web development. This is an initial 1 month full time contract (160 hours), with a view to extending. It is a remote working role.

We need

strategic input into our Web Development roadmap

front end web development using REST APIs

bug fixes of production systems and tools

troubleshooting of complex web services architecture

Mod is a small studio doing world-class R&D, creative and technical development, original production and contract work for other studios. 

We're looking for someone who has passion for interactive entertainment and story-telling, who will be proactive and professional in their approach, and who will use their great communication skills to work as part of our team. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered you must:

  • Be experienced in developing with our core frameworks (Django, React) and related languages (e.g. Python, JS, CSS)
  • Be willing and able to learn new software stacks and languages as required
  • Be familiar with AWS (e.g. CLOUDFORMATION, ROUTE 53, EC2, S3, SSM, RDS, EFS, SES, SNS, CLOUDFRONT, LAMBDA)
  • Be able to commit to a delivery schedule and meet deadlines
  • Be available now or in the near future 
  • Have the capacity to work remotely
  • Have good English language communication skills
  • Be proactive in problem solving and troubleshooting

DESIRABLE

The following are not essential but would give you an edge:

  • Experience with real-time graphics programming (e.g. GLSL, HLSL)
  • Experience with game engines (UE4, Unity)
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Experience with other languages (e.g. C++, Erlang, Rust, Dart)
